City News * Chenoa Veterinary Clinic has issued a new policy. Effective March 1, 2010 all dogs running at large in the City of Chenoa, that are impounded up by the Chenoa Police Department, will be implanted with a microchip by the Chenoa Veterinary Clinic for future identification of the animal. The cost of the microchip is $47.50 which will be paid by the owner as well as any and all boarding fees and vaccination fees when the dog is retrieved. * It is unlawful to own or to retain on premises within the City of Chenoa more than three animals of any one species. This of course applies to mammals only, you aren't going to get an ordinance violation for too many fish, just dogs, cats and domesticated pigs. We also are not going to come in and count your hamsters, mice, guinea pigs or rats (yes, I am aware that they are mammals but they are unlikely to be running at large). FYI except for domesticated pigs it is unlawful to keep any barnyard animals such as live sheep, goats, cattle, horses, swine or pigs in the City. * A reminder from the Chenoa Police Department: It is illegal to use cell phones in school and construction zones. It is also unlawful and simply not a good idea to text while driving at any time. * With the weather warming and the snow melting the City of Chenoa would like to remind you that the use of skates, scooters or bikes in the downtown area is prohibited. * Please keep all storm sewers and grates clear of garbage and yard waste.

Chenoa Food Pantry News The Chenoa 4H Space Age Pioneers braved the rain and cold on Sunday, February 21 and went door to door to collect items for the Chenoa Food Pantry. The people of Chenoa were very generous. The kids collected 627 items and $301 in cash for our local pantry. A big thank you to everyone who helped make the day so successful. The Chenoa Food Pantry is still always in need of things. Non perishable food items are always welcome. The most dire need right now is for personal hygiene products (ie soap, shampoo, pads, tampons, deodorant, potty paper, diapers). You can bring your donations to Trinity Lutheran Church or why not bring an item or two when you come up to City Hall to pay your water bill?
