The Chenoa Public Library in Chenoa, Illinois was made possible by a gift from members of a former Congregational Church. This group being of such small numbers, was unable to maintain a church. In 1912 the church building and grounds were offered to the City of Chenoa to be used as a public library.
Solar Eclipse Program and Glasses Giveaway
- Tuesday, August 15th, the library will be hosting a Solar Eclipse Program at Prairie Central Primary West (formerly Chenoa Elementary School). All are welcome. The program will be lead by an Ambassador to NASA from the Bloomington area. After the program, solar eclipse glasses will be handed out for viewing the solar eclipse safely on August 21st. Following the program there are plans to view planets and other space features from a telescope out on the football field.

LIBRARY BEGINS PLEDGE DRIVE
- Due to our community’s tremendous support, we currently have over $500,000 that can be directed to a new facility that has an expected cost of approximately $800,000. We are beginning a pledge drive to complete our mission of providing an accessible library to the citizens of Chenoa.
- Monday and Wednesday: 2 – 7 pm
- Tuesday and Thursday: 10 am – 12 pm | 2 pm – 7 pm
- Friday: 2 pm – 5 pm
- Saturday: 9 am – 12 pm
- Sunday: Closed
